Ggrowing emotions

200 x 200 cm4800 $

This painting was created in 2019. This year is the third year of college. I started to prepare for my graduation work, so I tried paintings with more concepts, depth and formal unity. In these paintings, you Being able to begin to see a more specific me. Such attempts did add weight to the work, but it was only a small step compared to the depth that would later come with the weight of life. Then came the COVID-19 epidemic at the end of the year, and the future that people expected changed its face, either urgently or slowly.

The growth of emotions and love is like the growth of an embryo, like the growth of blood vessels and meridians in the body, like the growth of lightning, like the growth of vine leaf veins.

Creative themes and style |   My works revolve around the creative concept of  "The land of humanity, People on the land". The people in the painting are people in nature, and the lines, shapes, and colors are close to nature. The nature in the painting is nature in the eyes of humans, existing in interaction with humans.I don’t pursue a series of works with a fixed and continuous style. I hope that the style of the pictures will synchronize with the changes in my life and always remain oscillating. The performance of the work must be in sync with the development of one's own life in order to be Sincere and powerful. Ideas are later.

Artwork Interpretation

In the painting, lines and forms are like surging undercurrents, breaking the regular order. It is similar to the distorted lines in Munch's "The Scream", yet it lacks the outward - directed terror and has more of the implicit subtlety of Eastern aesthetics. The twisted clouds, the flowing "light waterfall" and the unknown - shaped objects interweave, creating a space where a sense of oppression and a sense of extension coexist, which is a visual presentation of emotions breaking free from the shackles of reason.

In terms of color, a deep blue - black is used as the background, dotted with electric - light white and dark red. It is similar to Klimt's mysterious use of colors other than gold in his works, but is closer to the originality of emotions. The blue - black carries oppression and the unknown; the electric - light white is like the lightning of emotions breaking through the shackles; the dark red is like a hidden pain or passion. Between the color collisions, the complex layers of emotions — oppression, burst, struggle — are accurately outlined, allowing viewers to touch the temperature and power of the growth of emotions.

The content and theme focus on "the growth of emotions", concretizing abstract emotions into naturalized flowing forms. Those lines like magma and streams are the growth tracks of emotions. Similar to Kandinsky's visual translation of "inner needs", it abandons geometric regularity and uses a more primitive form to show the process of emotions from chaos to surging, from dormancy to burst, which is the breaking through and spreading of the seeds of emotions deep in the soul.

In terms of emotional expression, the painting conveys the tearing and indulgence when emotions grow. The restless lines within deep tones embody the struggle of emotional maturation; the flowing of the strange light waterfall evokes the indulgence in emotional release. Like Schiele’s portrayal of humanity’s internal conflicts—yet rendered in a more implicit, natural form—it allows viewers to empathize with the vigor and loss of control in emotional growth amidst the chaotic composition, sensing the primal force of burgeoning emotions within the folds of the soul. This work serves as a visual dissection of emotional undercurrents, forging a distinctive naturalized path for expressing abstract emotions within contemporary art contexts.

Why are the figure’s curled body lines rendered so prominently?

The fetal-like posture shapes the back, arms, and legs into a continuous curve, nearly closing into an elliptical form. This compositional enclosure underscores self-protection and introspection, while transforming the body itself into a central vessel of the painting, containing both suppressed tension and imminent emotional eruption.

What is the symbolic meaning of the flowing colors on the left?

The streaming strands of red, blue, and white resemble a fusion of flames and electric currents. They symbolize the release of inner emotions colliding with external forces. This eruption of color interrupts the otherwise somber atmosphere, injecting a dramatic surge of tension and energy.

Why is this work aligned with the field of “emotional contemporary painting”?

By intertwining bodily form with dynamic color, the work materializes the visualization of emotion itself. Within today’s art market, it stands as a characteristic example of emotional contemporary painting, combining psychological suggestion with visual intensity. It is especially suited for psychology research institutions, art therapy contexts, and long-term private or institutional collecting.

What role do the lightning-like linear fragments in the background play?

These jagged, electric traces flash through the dark backdrop like mental fissures or surges of energy. They create a counterpoint between the figure’s stillness and the restlessness of invisible forces, intensifying the central theme of emotional growth and psychic turbulence.

What kind of value does this painting hold in the art investment market?

As a surreal emotional painting (2020, oil on canvas, 200 × 200 cm), its uniqueness lies in merging figurative realism with an abstract energy field. It carries dual value—psychological expressiveness and visual experimentation. Collectors may situate it within the domains of surreal emotional art or contemporary female body art investment, making it particularly relevant for art funds, private museums, and cross-disciplinary cultural brands.
